Spyderco – C79 Assist I and Assist II ™ CLIPIT™

PRESS RELEASE

C79 Assist I and Assist II ™ CLIPIT™
By Spyderco®

Spyderco named this knife after its principal job function- to Assist. The Assist is a lightweight folder made for emergency fire/rescue professionals and the well-equipped citizen, all who rely on knives to be straightforward in use and perform flawlessly. The Assist’s blade is high-carbon VG-10 stainless steel and loaded with teeth. Eighty-percent of the 3-3/8” (86mm) cutting edge is serrated with the last inch at the tip PlainEdged. Above the one-hand-open hole sits a feature called a Cobra Hood. This metal cap guides the thumb over the hole for quick opening then doubles as a textured leveraging platform for your thumb while you are cutting. A wavy pattern cut out of the top of the blade and again along the handle is for controlled rope cutting. By placing a rope in the groove (between the partially open blade and the handle) you can simply squeeze the blade shut, slicing rope in a controlled manner without fully exposing the cutting edge. The handle is lightweight black fiberglass reinforced nylon (FRN) with a survival whistle built into the butt end that is shrill and high-pitched enough to be heard great distances. A reinforced wire pocket clip screws through the handle onto either side for left or right-handed use. An Assist II (C79PS) is also available with a retractable carbide-tip glass breaker in the handle and snub-nosed blade. The breaker is exposed when the closed knife is squeezed and retracts when pressure is released, keeping it out of the way till needed. Both versions are 8-3/8” (213mm) long when fully open and weigh 3.9 oz (111g).

MSRP: Assist C79PSBK2 (no carbide tip) runs $82.95 and the Assist C79PSBK (carbide tip) retails for $89.95. For more information please contact Spyderco at: 820 Spyderco Way Golden, Colorado 80403. Phone: 800-525-7770, Fax: (303) 278-2229, Email: custsvc@spyderco.com

Federal Signal – Wireless VisiBeam® Searchlight

August 22, 2006

— Second generation VisiBeam® halogen searchlight highlights
wireless remote control for improved ergonomics and greater
convenience along with exceptional illumination —

UNIVERSITY PARK, IL – Federal Signal’s newly released Wireless VisiBeam® searchlight couples wireless remote control with powerful halogen lighting performance for a clear, even light beam that is superior to anything on the market today.

The Wireless VisiBeam’s high polished reflector design and durable polycarbonate dome offer a combination of exceptional halogen lighting performance and reliability in the harshest conditions. The wireless remote control is capable of operating at over 100 feet. Advanced wireless technology provides an infinite number of key lock codes for optimum security. Heavy duty, rugged construction and industry standard beacon mounting holes make Wireless VisiBeam ideal for a diverse range of applications.

In order to focus light precisely where it is needed most, Wireless VisiBeam offers an innovative “graduated start” feature that enables pinpoint light beam placement with continuous 360-degree horizontal and 140-degree vertical adjustment.

Fitting comfortably in the palm of the hand, the Wireless VisiBeam’s oversized controller buttons permit operation even when wearing gloves. Up to four transmitters can be programmed to operate one light, making it possible for multiple users to operate the same light. A standard belt clip, designed into the back of each remote, allows users to attach the controller to belt or sun visor when not in use.

The Wireless VisiBeam controller uses two standard AA batteries (user supplied). To conserve battery life, the FCC-approved remote incorporates a 20 second time-out feature that automatically shuts off the controller after 20 seconds of unintentional transmit time. The searchlight uses a commonly available standard 100-watt, H3 bulb (12-volt model) that facilitates easy lamp replacement. Wireless VisiBeam is also available in a 65-watt, 24-volt model.
