Ocala, FL, (April 20, 2007) – Customers lined up at three work stations to design the pumpers and rescue pumpers of their department’s dreams with EzWRITER™, E-ONE’s exclusive new online truck configuration tool, during the 2007 Fire Departments Instructor’s Conference.
EzWRITER allows firefighters to build the customized apparatus their department needs by choosing from a variety of chassis, body, plumbing and electrical features.
“With EzWRITER we’ve been able to harness the capabilities of EzONE™ and EzDRAW™ and extend them beyond the distribution channel,” said Jonathan Plant, Sales Configurator Supervisor for E-ONE.
When registering in EzWRITER, departments can enter their zip code and choose from a number of departments in their area which are automatically generated by the system. Once selected, the system will enter that departments address and contact information, making registration easy and quick.
EzWRITER allows option solutions ranging from chassis type and engine size to lighting features, tank and pump sizes, and custom compartmentation. When you finish building your new apparatus, the system emails you a drawing of your truck along with literature and the contact information for your local dealer.
“This allows the individual department to configures a truck to meet their specific requirements,” said Plant.
In its first phase, EzWRITER allows users to configure Custom and Commercial Pumpers and Custom and Commercial Rescue Pumpers, with aerial products, Tradition and ARFF configurations soon to follow.
