Ladson, SC (February 9, 2007) – The new home site of American LaFrance’s new headquarters is buzzing with activity; slabs have been poured, and wall panels have been erected.  Staying on their schedule, American LaFrance intends to have machinery moved to the new facility by mid-May and product and employees moved in by June 1st.

The assembly plant and headquarters, both of which are being constructed by Spartanburg-based Johnson Development Associates, Inc., is located just off of Interstate 26 in Berkeley County.  To better display the progress of the new headquarters to eager employees and American LaFrance supporters, the company attached a 24/7 Web cam to a nearby rooftop.  The Web cam as well as up to date still shots can be accessed at www.americanlafrance.com, under News.

When construction is final, the company will boast a 440,000 square foot state-of-the-art, custom fire and vocational products manufacturing and assembly plant, and a beautiful 57,000 square foot headquarters.  The new facility will also include a vehicle test track, a pump test pit and a retail store outfitted with American LaFrance merchandise and memorabilia.  To add to the excitement of a new headquarters, the company is also celebrating their 175th anniversary.  Festivities surrounding the 175th anniversary will coincide with the grand opening celebration of the headquarters this Summer.
